On Tuesday’s episode of her Apple Music show me & dad radio, the 18-year-old’s mother, Maggie Baird, reminisced about Billie’s intense infatuation with Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

In 2012, Billie was so obsessed with the music video for Bieber’s single “As Long As You Love Me” that Baird and her husband, Patrick O’Connell, considered sending her to therapy. Baird, 61, recounted driving Billie to the dance studio while playing the song, with both of them sobbing during the ride.

Baird explained, “Billie was so overwhelmed by the video and talking about it, crying with excitement. We genuinely considered therapy because she was in so much emotional distress over Justin Bieber.”

The young singer also discussed her broader mentаl health struggles, revealing, “There was a period when I cried every single day of my life at ages 13, 14, and 15. But by 17 and 18, I barely cried at all. I’m proud to sаy I hardly cry anymore and have overcome that.”
