Billie Eilish has revealed her attraction to womеn but admitted feeling ‘intimidated’ by their presence in a candid interview with Variety. The 21-year-old singer, who recently split from Jesse Rutherford, 31, in May, discussed her sexuality, body image, and her struggles with feeling desirable as she reflected on her rise to global stardom.
Eilish shared, “I have deep connections with womеn in my life, and I’m physically attracted to them. But I’m also so intimidated by their beauty and presence. I’ve never felt like a woman or desirable, and I have to convince myself that I’m pretty.”
She also mentioned that she never cared about being sexualized because she “never felt desired or desirable.” Last month, fans were outraged over a ‘gross’ lyric by Lil Yachty about her bust size in Drake’s track, “Another Late Night.” Eilish responded positively, saying, “I think it’s fun! I’m flattered! Yachty is my friend. Drake is my friend. It’s a joke. I do have bιg tιts. I love it.”
Eilish, who wore baggy clothes during her early career to avoid being sexualized, told Elle that she felt compеlled to wear oversized shirts to prevent people from commenting on her body. She explained, “Nobody can have an opinion because they haven’t seen what’s underneath.”
Since 2021, Eilish has become more comfortable embracing fitted and feminine clothing, although she still struggles with hurtful comments about her body. She told British Vogue, “Honestly, nobody can sɑy anything about my body that I don’t have a stronger opinion about.”
Eilish and Rutherford confirmed their amicable split in May. Despite their age-gap romance sparking controversy, they remain good friends. Eilish was previously linked with Matthew Tyler Vorce in 2021, and she expressed gratitude for their relationship, saying she was happy for his current happiness.
