Finneas, in his acceptance speech, reflected on the organizationā€™s inception during the pašš—demic-induced lockdown, emphasizing the transformative impact of their music career on enabling their motherā€™s altruistic vision.Ā 

Speech:Ā 'Here's what actually happened: Billie and I made a bunch of music in our bedroom. We got rich and we paid off our mom's mortgage and she turned around and started a non-profit immediately,' Finneas said

He lauded his motherā€™s swift action in establishing the non-profit, Support + Feed, and expressed humility in their role compared to the broader communityā€™s contributions.

Honoree:Ā 'I remember the stigma of what it was to be poor and how we treated poor people. I remember being embarrassed using my mother's EBT cardā€¦ and so all I've wanted to do and what I wanted to do with Support + Feed and with Wondalunch, is to erase that narrative,' Janelle said in an emotional speech

Inspiration: Finneas reflected on the moment the idea was born during the pandemic when he said to his sister, ā€˜It must be nice to have all this free time now that we arenā€™t touring,ā€™ and she was like "I have this idea to find a way to keep all of the vegan restaurants in LA open and also send all the food to hospital workers and people in the hospital anyone who can access itā€'.
