Admiгe The Unusual Designed Guitaг Hotel at Seminole Haгd гock Hotel & Casino, Foгt Laudeгdale

Hard Rock International’s proposed guitar-shaped hotel tower for The Mirage has taken another step forward. On August 16, the Clark County Zoning Commission accepted a step that allows for construction development.

Hard Rock’s plans for the resort, which it now operates after signing a partnership last year, aim for a 600-room, 660-foot-tall structure along Las Vegas Boulevard. The proposed guitar-shaped hotel will have 49,000 square feet of gaming space and 96,000 square feet of retail and eateries, according to development records. There will also be a pool, spa, fitness center, and salon at the resort.

Hard Rock spokesperson Jennifer Lazovich told commissioners earlier this year that the high-rise would be built “right where the existing volcano is.” In addition, she stated that the firm intends to “modernize and theme” the remainder of the property to match the guitar tower. Her client has stated that it intends to transform The Mirage into a Hard Rock-branded resort.

According to a letter to the corporation from Lazovich, a land-use attorney with law firm Kaempfer Crowell, the proposed skyscraper is supposed to mimic black-to-back guitars with “brightly lit strings” and would include floor-to-ceiling glass panes.

In December, Hard Rock purchased The Mirage’s operations from MGM Resorts International for more than $1 billion in cash. Vici Properties controls the Mirage’s real estate and has stated in its agreement with Hard Rock that the initial yearly fee will be $90 million.

When Hard Rock announced their acquisition of the Mirage in late 2021, it revealed designs for a guitar-shaped tower on the property. The company is known for its massive decorative guitars, and it has already constructed a 450-foot-tall guitar-shaped hotel tower in Florida that is similar to the one planned for Las Vegas.

Until Hard Rock International completes the refurbishment and rebranding, the resort will be known as The Mirage.
