A Sparkling Masterpiece: $4.8 Million Mercedes with 300,000 Diamonds Becomes the World’s Costliest Automobile

In 2007, during a grand unveiling at a Dubai auto show commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Mercedes-Benz SL550, the world witnessed the opulent magnificence of the most expensive Mercedes ever created—a $4.8 million diamond-studded marvel, known as the mink-furnished Mercedes SL600. This exquisite automobile belongs to none other than Saudi Prince (Amir) al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdul-Aziz, a prominent figure among the world’s top 10 wealthiest individuals, as per Forbes. Remarkably, Prince Waleed boasts a remarkable collection of 50 cars in his possession.

This diamond-encrusted masterpiece stands as one of the most coveted and costly Mercedes vehicles globally. Achieving its resplendent appearance required the dedicated craftsmanship of 13 experts laboring tirelessly for two weeks. Merely laying a finger on this automotive gem incurs a charge of $1,000. It is undeniable that no other car on the road can rival the sheer magnificence of this diamond-adorned wonder. However, the question remains: Do you possess the audacity to navigate it on the open road? Even the slightest blemish on its surface can translate into a repair bill amounting to thousands of dollars.

Interestingly, there exist two variations of this diamond-clad Mercedes—one in its original pristine white hue and another adorned in shimmering gold.
