Billie Eilish, accompanied by her brother Finneas O’Connell, celebrated their victory for Best Original Song at the 2024 Golden Globes with their Barbie Һιt, “What Was I Made For?” During her acceptance speech, Eilish expressed surprise and gratitude, acknowledging her brother as the pivotal influence in shaping her identity.

She extended thanks to the creators of the film, Greta and Noah, and appreciated Margot Robbie for her presence. Eilish also expressed gratitude to Mattel, Interscope, Darkroom, and her dedicated team, including managers, mom, and dad. 

Reflecting on the past year, she revealed that writing the award-winning song had been a saving grace during a difficult period.

 Eilish concluded by expressing surreal gratitude, acknowledging her luck and the intimidating yet appreciative presence of everyone in the room.

Among the six nominees for Best Original Song, three songs from Barbie competed, including “What Was I Made For?”. Other nominated songs were “Aɗɗictеd to Romance” by Bruce Springsteen (She Came to Me), “Dance the Night” by Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, Dua Lipa, and Caroline Ailin (Barbie), “I’m Just Ken” by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt (Barbie), “Peaches” by Jack Black, Aaron Horvath, Michael Jelenic, Eric Osmond, and John Spiker (The Supеr Mario Bros. Movie), and “Road to Freedom” by Lenny Kravitz (Rustin).
