“Sweetener” is a “elevated version of all the albums that came before,” according to Ariana Grande’s label boss.
‘Eternal Sunshine,’ Ariana Grande’s latest album, including ‘house music and a little R’n’B’.
The head of the 30-year-old star’s label has given fans a sneak peek at what to anticipate from the much anticipated “Positions” sequel from 2020.
In a brand-new behind-the-scenes video that Ariana posted to Instagram this week, Wendy Goldstein, co-president of Republic Records, stated: “It’ll be perfect between you and Max [Martin].” The vocals sound fantastic. The pace shifts, house music, and occasional R&B are all included. You are the one. It resembles a more polished version of every album that came before it, like “Sweetener” meets “Thank U, Next.”
The lead song, “Yes, And?” has already been heard by fans; it was later remixed with Mariah Carey. Before the album is released next month, fans won’t hear any more singles.
The Grammy winner recently stated that instead of releasing the album’s tracks gradually, she wants her fans to hear the entire record when it is released on March 8.
We are a little over a month away from “Eternal Sunshine,” and I don’t believe it’s possible to explain how grateful I am for your love, support, and excitement! She said on her Instagram Story earlier this month.
As difficult as it is to resist the temptation to share another song or single with you all right away, I wanted to express that I would truly appreciate for you to listen to the album through this period.
“Of course, once this project is out there will be more singles off of it (and don’t worry, we might have a little surprise or two up our sleeves to tide you over), but my ideal way for you all to experience this body of work is to wait a little longer for you to be able to listen through completely first.”
Fans were commended by Ariana for believing in her “vision and plan” for the highly anticipated album.
She went on, saying, “I am really appreciative of your patience because you have been waiting so long for new music from me!
“I genuinely can’t wait for this new age to be yours, and I look forward to enjoying every moment of it with you all!
It’s going to be extremely special—and it already is. I can’t wait for everything that lies ahead of me. greater than before.
“Love you so so so!!! (sic)”
Ariana herself referred to the album as “a concept album” and mentioned how “really vulnerable” several of the tracks are.
She described how she gave her family, friends, and Republic Records team members access to an advance listen of the compilation in a recent Instagram post.
“It’s kind of a concept album, so I wanted to share it with you even though I’m nervous,” she remarked.
Each piece is an enhanced version of the same narrative and experience told in a new way. I know I seem overly sentimental, but this is what’s happening.
“Some of them are really vulnerable, and sometimes I’m just having fun acting the part that people expect me to play.”
