Billie Eilish Decided To Trade Blows With Taylor Swift: Criticizing Her For The Vinyl Album

In an interview with Billboard, Billie Eilish addressed the issue of vinyl revenue-driven consumerism in the music industry, stating that it is destroying our environment.

“Many artists release various vinyl variants, including myself. The climate crisis is currently happening, and we are all part of the problem. We are living in an era where, for some reason, various plastic vinyl variants with different packaging are being created. It boosts sales figures and helps them make more money,” shared Billie.“It’s really wasteful,” she continued, “I’m uncomfortable with how much we still care about numbers, and you only care about making money. And the beloved artists are doing just that.”Although not mentioning any specific artists in the article, Taylor Swift fans still expressed outrage, believing that the 2001-born star was indirectly referring to Taylor. The reason being the pop star’s fаme in releasing a series of vinyl variants for albums. Most recently, Taylor released 8 different editions for the “folklore” album and an additional 4 editions for “Midnights.”After facing heavy criticism from numerous Lover-era fans, Billie finally spoke up. She expressed frustration at being continuously misinterpreted and audiences not carefully reading the interview.“It would be great if people stopped putting words in my mouth and actually read what I said,” the multiple Grammy-winning artist shared on her social media, “I’m not singling anyone out; I’m talking about a common problem in this entertainment industry, that when it comes to creating album variants, many artists have done so, including myself. The climate crisis is real, and we’re all part of the problem, let’s do better together.”
