Time Magazine has officially unveiled its list of the top 100 most influential people. Among those honored are Simone Biles, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Britney Spears, and Billie Eilish. Each honoree had a tribute written by a fellow notable figure, with Megan Thee Stallion penning the entry for the “Happier Than Ever” singer.
“Billie Eilish is a unique soul, with a voice, style, and attitude all unapologetically her own,” Megan wrote. “I first met Billie at the Grammys this year. She had already achieved worldwide stardom, which might make some people have airs about them, but not Billie. She was so real and laid-back, even though her personality is so big. She is a rare spirit who speaks from her heart with no pretenses. I knew I had found a kindred spirit that night. One who is strong, but still learning and still growing. A woman who stands up for herself and advocates for wоmen everywhere.”
In addition to her glamorous appearance at the 2021 Met Gala and an outstanding performance at the VMAs, Eilish took home two awards from the VMAs: Video for Good and Best Latin Video, and was nominated for five. In 2020, at just nineteen years old, she won five Grammys and was nominated for six, becoming the youngest person to win a Grammy for Album of the Year and to be nominated in the four major Grammy categories in a single year.
Eilish is making waves globally, gracing the covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Glamour, and breɑking records. Among her achievements are having the most number 1 songs by a solo artist on Billboard’s alternative song charts and being the youngest person to record a James Bond theme song. She also holds the title of the youngest person to win Album of the Year, previously held by Taylor Swift. Eilish’s music is available on all streaming services, her picture book is available on Amazon, and her documentary “Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry” can be watched on Apple TV.
