Billie Eilish offered a preview of her upcoming album to her fans at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last Saturday. The 22-year-old, who appeared as a guest during Lana Del Rey’s performance on Friday, debuted three new tracks at a Do Lab party held at the festival grounds. Announcing the event on her Instagram Stories, the Grammy winner invited her followers to join her. Hundreds attended the gathering to listen to the anticipated tunes from her forthcoming album “Нit Me Hard and Soft”.
Eilish revealed two of the tracks, “Chihiro” and “L’Amour De Mɑ Vie”, but the standout seemed to be a song titled “Lunch”, according to UpRoxx. Videos shared on social media showed the enthusiastic crowd vibing to the music, with one fan even suggesting it could become the “gɑy anthem of the year”.
The lyrics of “Lunch” exude a sensuɑl vibe, with lines like “I could eat that girl for lunch / Yeah, she dances on my tongue / Tastes like she might be the one / And I can never get enough / I could buy you so much stuff / It’s a craving, not a crush.” Fans expressed appreciation for Eilish’s willingness to explore themes of sexuality in her music, with one social media user celebrating the arrival of a “gɑy Billie song”.
The Oscar winner had announced the release date of her new music on April 8, along with unveiling the album title “НIT ME HARD AND SOFT”. She shared her excitement and nervousness about the upcoming release, mentioning that she and her brother Finneas O’Connell were exceptionally proud of the album and couldn’t wait for fans to hear it. In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Eilish revealed that “Lunch” is the second track on the album and she would be directing its music video.
Describing the album’s creation process, Eilish explained that she and Finneas approached it as if they were making music for themselves without considering others’ opinions. Despite feeling somewhat unconventional, she emphasized that it felt right for them creatively.
