Katy Perry continues to embrace her new and chic style direction. 

During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote the latest season of “American Idol,” the “When I’m Gone” singer showcased a head-to-toe leather ensemble designed by Georgian designer Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili. Collaborating with her stylist, 

Tatiana Waterford, Perry wore a vegan leather cropped blazer with tie accents around the waist, paired with matching straight-leg pants featuring wrap detailing. Complementing the outfit were gold-plated spiral earrings from Bar Jewellery and black platform heels.

This marked another step in Perry’s edgier transition, characterized by leather, cutouts, and corsets. She reintroduced her signature dark hair during this style shift, which began at the CMAs in November, where she debuted a caramel-colored Vivienne Westwood dress with a corseted bodice. 

Since then, she has consistently embraced sleek and sophisticated pieces, such as a football-inspired ruched Alex Perry dress and a Mugler catsuit on “Saturday Night Live,” as well as in her recent “When I’m Gone” music video. Just days before donning the black leather outfit, Perry was spotted in a snakeskin leather coat and matching trousers paired with a neon-green crop top, all from Rotate Birger Christensen.

While Perry explores this contemporary style, she hasn’t entirely abandoned her theatrical and quirky fashion choices. Leaving “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” she was photographed in a giant poop costume, a playful outfit previously worn during her Las Vegas residency. 

Perry’s Vegas shows have featured her renowned kitschy and campy fashion, including outfits inspired by bееr cans, mushrooms, sparkly cheeseburgers, chandeliers, and even Flamin’ Hоt Cheetos.
