Royal Caribbean International’s Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest superyacht, is set to set sail in the Caribbean in January 2024, accommodating 5,610 passengers and 2,350 crew, as announced by Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley. The superyacht will feature a seaside water park with a swimming pool and a set of six world-record-breaking waterslides. Joining the Royal Caribbean fleet on October 26, the Icon of the Seas promises a high-tech experience, building on the company’s 50 years of expertise.
Within the superyacht, passengers can enjoy the Category 6 water park with its six record-breaking waterslides, complemented by seven pools and nine whirlpools for those seeking a more relaxed experience. Boasting over 40 dining and entertainment options, most of which are included in the ticket price, the superyacht provides a variety of room classifications, including 28 distinct options to accommodate different types of families.
Royal Caribbean International emphasized the careful design of family-based suites on the superyacht, which has seen record-breaking pre-sales. In a quarterly financial report, Michael Bayley hailed the Icon of the Seas as “literally the best performing new product launch the company has ever had.”
The Icon of the Seas will operate year-round, offering seven-day voyages from Miami to the Caribbean and back. With over 2,600 people working on the superyacht daily and rigorous sea testing, Royal Caribbean plans for the second sea trials until the end of 2023.
