Exploring a $65 Million Gulfstream G650ER Private Jet: A Glimpse into the Ultra-Luxurious Travel Lifestyle of Billionaires such as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos

Introduced to the market in 2014, the Gulfstream G650ER stands out as one of the globe’s swiftest and most expansive business aircraft, attracting affluent clientele, including notable billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

The ultra-long-haul flagship jet features a pair of Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, propelling it to an impressive range of 7,500 nautical miles and a speed of 0.925 Mach.

The aircraft boasts a range that is 500 nautical miles greater than its predecessor, the Gulfstream G650.

Gulfstream and Qatar Airways, the operator of G650ER jets, leveraged the impressive range and speed of the aircraft to achieve a world record in 2019. They completed the fastest “round-the-world” flight, covering the journey from pole to pole in under 47 hours.

In that same year, the G650ER achieved another record-breaking flight by completing a nonstop journey between Singapore and Tucson, Arizona, covering an impressive distance of 8,379 nautical miles (9,600 miles). These accomplishments represent just two of the over 120 world speed records held by this exceptional jet.

Prominent figures such as Musk, Bezos, and Bill Gates have attested to the capabilities of the jet, with Musk alone logging over 150,000 miles in 2018. While a significant portion of his flights were within California, he also undertook overseas journeys to destinations such as Ireland and Israel.

Jack Sweeney, a 19-year-old student at the University of Central Florida, brought attention to Musk’s G650ER earlier this year by sharing the jet’s location on Twitter.

Although the G650ER is renowned globally for its speed and range, Canadian competitor Bombardier is taking things to the next level with its recently introduced Global 8000 aircraft.

In the face of competition, the Gulfstream G650ER remains one of the world’s top-selling business aircraft, boasting a multi-year waiting list since its initial launch.
