I appreciate your enlightening those who fail to see the noir elements in It's a Wonderful Life. Many who are dismissive of Frank Capra's sensibilities as "Capra Corn" fail to recognize the depth of his cinematic storytelling. Films such as Meet John Doe, American Madness, and the sentimental Lady for a Day have depths that make them true classics.

Loving your videos. It's a Wonderful Life certainly has some noirish and dark elements. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Never fails to move me and leave me satisfied by the end. Wonderful film.

I first saw this in the early 80s when I was just out of college and felt like my family was trying to guilt-trip me into staying in my hometown. The movie seemed like a tragedy to me at that time. I did move away, got married, had kids, and watched it again and was so touched by it. It's like a great novel - you really need to experience it at different times of your life to appreciate different aspects of it! Thank you for your wonderful insights and research! I always learn something from you!

Great review! My husband and I watched this movie the end of November and it is a tear really liked James Stewart and Donna Reed together and that family was the cutest😊. I enjoyed hearing the Noir elements.

Great review, I'm 61 this movie was never shown on TV in the 1960s and 1970s I first saw it in the 80s, as a holiday movie which it turned in to, as you pointed out I see the noir aspect of it, when this movie was distributed on video James Stewart objected that they added color to it so the distributer put it out in both formats, thank !
